Setting up the Microsoft Advertising integration in SalesViewer®
The Microsoft Advertising (formerly Bing Ads) integration enables SalesViewer® users to gain valuable insights into the performance of their Microsoft Advertising campaigns directly in the SalesViewer® dashboard.
In particular, information such as the keyword and the network from which the visit originated can be displayed.
This guide will provide you with step-by-step instructions on how to set up this integration:
Step-by-step instructions
- Step 1: Open your Microsoft Advertising account
Sign in to your Microsoft Advertising account and select the relevant account. - Step 2: Open the campaign overview
Now click on “All campaigns” in the left-hand menu (gray) at the top. - Step 3: Navigate to account settings
Please click on “Settings” in the submenu (light gray) to the right. - Step 4: Edit tracking settings
All settings for the respective account will open. In this overview, click on the “Account-level options” tab at the top. - Step 5: Enter tracking template
Now enter the following parameter in the “Tracking template” field:
{lpurl}?keyword={Keyword}&device={Device}&network={Network} - Step 6: Save the Settings
Make sure to select “Save”.
This tracking template does not change your ad URLs. It simply adds three invisible parameters (keyword, device, network) to your ad links. These parameters enable SalesViewer® to capture the searched keyword and other relevant data and display it in the dashboard.
